About us

After several years of discussing, and planning, husband and wife team Carl and Lindsey Hewson decided that 2015 was the year to relocate to France with their two young children Logan and Saskia.

Carl has been involved in the UPVC window industry for over fifteen years. Initially starting out at weekends whilst at school for his fathers company. This progressed to summer jobs and whilst studying Mechanical Engineering he continued to do installations during holidays and weekends where he could. After obtaining his degree in engineering he returned to the family company and before long the opportunity arose to start manufacturing conservatory roofs.

PVC Windows in Charente Maritime - Lion Rouge

The company was called Riviera Roofs Ltd and over the last ten years along with his wife Lindsey they established themselves as very well regarded manufacturer. In over 3000 roofs, none of their customers was left with a missed delivery deadline. This was through hard work, determination and commitment to their customers.

They firmly believe that through their simple values of supplying a high quality product that has been well made, customer service that is second to none and good value has helped to steer the company through the toughest recession in living memory and continue to grow and prosper to the position where it is today.

Lindsey naturally became involved with the business early on, mostly on the administration side of the company including the accounts, but has been known to help late in the evenings packing roofs for the following days deliveries, and indeed when it gets very late sleeping in the office whilst Carl continued to work through the night!

The decision was made to sell Riviera Roofs and relocate to the Charente Maritime in 2015 and to go back to the retail side of industry. And this is where Lion Rouge was born. Utilising the knowledge of the industry over the last fifteen years along with providing a window specifically designed for the French market they intend to provide the same service they have been used to supplying, but to the retail sector.
